Keyboard Shortcuts
As educators we spend a lot of time on our computers doing classroom administrative tasks. Using keyboard shortcut keys can save us time and allow us more time to focus on the most important thing, our students. My challenge to you is to try ONE keyboard shortcut a week and see how much your productivity improves.
General keyboard shortcuts:
Ctrl + A – Select All
Ctrl + C – Copy
Ctrl + X – Cut
Ctrl + V – Paste
Ctrl + P – Print
Ctrl + F – Find
Ctrl + Z – Undo
Ctrl + Y – Redo
Ctrl + L – Highlight URL of the current page
Ctrl + T – New Tab
Ctrl + Shift + T – Open Closed Tab
Formatting Keyboard Shortcuts:
Ctrl + U – Underline
Ctrl + B – Bold
Ctrl + I – Italics
Ctrl + Shift + V – Paste and match font style
* If you are using a Mac, you will use the Option Key (⌘) instead of Ctrl
